My Bloody Valentine - m b v

" The album is now live on
Www.mybloodyvalentine.org "

Ahh! Oh, yes. The new album by My Bloody Valentine, titled "m b v", is finally here! Well, almost... The site is currently unavailable due to getting slammed by thousands of hungry, would-be listeners. Some of the comments from anxious fans on their official Facebook page ( http://www.facebook.com/mybloodyvalentine ) are pretty funny, though. It has been over two decades since the release of their last album, the breathtaking and indelible classic Loveless, but some people are freaking out about having to wait just a little bit longer because of the site not loading. To be completely honest, I'm freaking out too, but out of excitement not frustration. I couldn't be more psyched for this, but I will try to remain patient. The included pic is a screenshot I took of the closest I've been able to get to it so far, before the site went back down. If you are (somehow) unfamiliar with the band, I recommend that you check out their music as Soon as possible! I will post an update once I have successfully purchased the album. Stay tuned!

**UPDATE**

The site is working now! I downloaded the album and just finished listening to the whole thing. It is almost beyond words, but a few that come to mind are Amazing, Incredible, Fantastic, and Astounding. It is extremely original, yet maintains that classic MBV sound. Wow. To anyone who said that it would be impossible for them to create a worthy follow-up to Loveless, you were wrong. Blissfully wrong. This was definitely worth the wait. My only hope is that we don't have to wait another 20+ years before we are treated to their next full length, but at least we shouldn't have to wait very long for their next new release, because there is already word of an EP on the horizon as well. Also, they just started touring. These are exciting times, indeed! Whether you are a longtime listener and fan of the band or just some poor, lonesome creature with a pair of ears, I urge you to buy this album right now. It is available in three different packages: 180 gram vinyl + CD + digital download, CD + digital download, and digital download. All downloads are your choice of 320kbps MP3, 16bit 44.1 K WAV, or 24bit 96 K WAV. Again, I am absolutely floored. I need to listen to it again right now. *click* There, that's better...

In My Dreams: Oct. 15th into 16th, 2012

Last night I dreamed that I was looking through some old belongings, and came across some artwork (the artwork doesn't exist in real life) that was given to me by a friend I haven't spoken to in a long while. It was on a long piece of card stock that was folded like an accordion, consisted of approximately 8 panels, and each panel had several words and some mixed media art on them. It was very touching.

The person who created it wasn't there, but in the dream I knew who it was from, and remembered it as something they had given to me in the past. When I woke up, it made me sad because of how people can drift apart and lose contact. Perhaps in some parallel universe, we still talk, and that artwork exists. Or maybe it was prophetic. Or a sign that I should make more of an effort to stay in touch with people. Perhaps all of the above. Thoughts?

Philosophical Musings, Part One: Transmissions of Consciousness & Existential Feedback

If consciousness is a form of energy which permeates everything, and the brain acts as a receiver to channel that energy at a specific and unique frequency, then it could be postulated that individual consciousness, or the soul, is just one aspect of a universal consciousness. The brain interprets stimulae, and then acts as a transmitter, sending individual experience back through that same frequency of consciousness, to help create our shared reality. We experience reality through our senses on an individual level, and create reality through our consciousness on a universal level. Existence as we know it is a feedback loop of consciousness, creating matter, creating consciousness, creating matter, etc. Ad infinitum.

We just uploaded a new track to our SoundCloud:

---- Swirlscape ----

Vivid colors in my eyes
Flashing shadows in my mind
Turning, twisting motion

Fluid colors in my eyes
Dancing shadows in my mind
Turning, twisting motion

Glowing colors in my eyes
Passing shadows in my mind
Turning, twisting motion

The Snow Sprites: Cloud of Dust & Secrets Among Trees

There are two new songs available to stream:

Cloud of Dust
Secrets Among Trees

Here are the lyrics to Cloud of Dust. Secrets Among Trees is an instrumental.

---- Cloud of Dust ----

There is another side to everything
But sometimes it's the same
You will not see the truth for what it is
Until you play the game

You keep it right and just
Seen from through a cloud of dust

There is an emptiness in everything
That's also full of shame
You can predict the acts of anyone
When everyone's the same

You keep it right and just
Seen from through a cloud of dust

There is an opposite to everything
But sometimes it's the same
You can not measure things by essence when
They're only here in name

You keep it right and just
Seen from through a cloud of dust

We Are Snow Sprites

The day is hot and bright, but the caverns we dwell in are cool and dark. The smooth rocks we lie upon coat us in dirt, but at least it helps conceal us from the ever reaching rays of the sun. This is where we create our sounds in the summertime. We have been working diligently this past week, despite the bitter heat. What's that? A different kind of light at the end of the tunnel. It is the moonlight! As we first approach, it almost appears to shine brighter than the sun. Our eyes take time to adjust. As we reach the outside, we are greeted by the other nocturnal creatures of the forest. We join them in a dance of utter lunacy, after which they join us in song. The night is cool and dark. We find a stream, and wash away the dirt of the day. We are not soot sprites, silly, we are Snow Sprites.

P.S. You can expect to hear some new tunes very soon.

The Snow Sprites: Winter Blues

Just in case anyone out there has been wondering where our new album is, I'd like to give you a brief update. I was sick for pretty much the entire winter, which basically put a complete freeze on recording. The good news, though, is that I'm feeling better now, and things are starting to get back on track. We hope to bring you more new songs in the not-too-distant future. Thank you for your patience.
